Introduction to Disney's Star Wars Galaxy's Edge

Before we jump in to talking about the Ronto Wrap, let us give you a quick backgrounder on Disney's Star Wars Galaxy's Edge. It is truly one of the most immersive lands that we've ever experienced—nothing comes close to rivaling it except for the Wizarding World of Harry Potter over at Universal Studios.

This land comes complete with two rides: Star Wars Rise of the Resistance, which by the way is hands down the best theme park ride ever. And let us not forget that you can take a ride on the "fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy", the Millennium Falcon. We are talking a full scale Millennium Falcon sitting in the middle of Galaxy's edge, even the most casual Star Wars fans among you may geek out just a little when you're standing next to this spaceship.

The Millennium Falcon, Disney’s Galaxy’s Edge

Besides the rides, you'll also find some of the most immersive experiences that we've ever encountered in a theme park. We can personally vouch for the Droid Depot and the very real ritual of building your own droid.

There's also Savi's Workshop, where from what we've seen you have a chance to really become immersed in the process of selecting and building your own lightsaber. Oga's Cantina with DJ R-3X, which from what we've seen seems to be straight out of a Star Wars movie set.

These immersive experiences extend to the food with blue and green milk, and of course, the legendary Ronto Wrap!

Ronto Roasters Theme

As with every other nook and cranny of this highly themed land, it is easy to feel like you are truly in Black Spire Outpost on planet Batuu. Ronto Roasters is no exception to that rule, from the moment you step inside of this quick service restaurant and lay eyes on the droid 'fire' roasting your meat, you feel like you're really there.

That's right, there's a droid roasting meat under an engine-turned ‘fire’ pit at the center of the restaurant. You should know that the droid is standing there diligently roasting an animal that is native to Tatooine.

Ronto Roasters, Disney’s Galaxy’s Edge

This spot is set up to be a place where galactic crews stop in to grab a bite before getting ready to head out on there next mission..

We say all of this because we want you to take a moment to stop and take in your surroundings and notice the sights and sounds all around you. Not just here, but all around, Disney World. It's all a part of enjoying the journey!

So, what Is a Ronto Wrap and what's in it?

If you're reading this, like us you're late to the game and haven't tried it yet. When we set out to try our first Ronto Wrap, we hand no idea what was in it besides the grilled pork sausage and that it was served on pita. That's it. Oh, and people seemed to love it.

We came to find that the sausage came topped with roasted pork, grilled sausage, peppercorn sauce and tangy slaw.

This sandwich is available in two varieties – a lunch/dinner version and a breakfast version.

Is a Ronto Wrap Spicy?

If you're wondering about the spice level of the Ronto Wrap, here's what we experienced. It does have a little bit of a kick provided by the peppercorn sauce.

But as someone who doesn't like spice, I found it to be quite mild. My husband who loves spicy foods didn't register it as particularly spicy to him either. So if you're not a fan of spicy foods, we think that you will you still be able to enjoy this wrap.

What else is on the Menu at Ronto Roasters?

So what kind of food can you expect at Ronto Roasters? You may have thought that they just have the infamous wrap. But no, there is more to the menu than that.

Breakfast at Ronto Roasters

Specifically for breakfast you'll find the Ronto Morning Wrap and Rising Moon Overnight Oats. We have not had a chance to try the Ronto Morning Wrap but it is on our list of food items to try the next chance we get.

The Ronto Morning Wrap includes roasted pork, grilled pork sausage, peppercorn sauce, and tangy slaw. There are plant based options available on the breakfast menu where you'll find the Triple Suns Breakfast Wrap and the Andoan Fruit with Muja Sauce.

The Tatooine Sunset is on the menu for breakfast. This drink is a mixture of unsweetened tea with lemonade, melon and blueberry.

Lunch and Dinner at Ronto Roasters

For lunch and dinner, there's the classic Ronto Wrap and the Kyryll Pork Rinds. There's also the pork rinds that are seasoned with ancho Chile, cheddar, smoke and cinnamon.

Similar to breakfast, you'll find plant-based options like the Zuchii Wrap and Andoan Fruit with Muja Sauce.

Remember, we need to use the term 'dinner' loosely here. Ronto Roasters does close at 3pm, so keep that in mind if you're planning to have a meal here.

Ronto Roasters All Day Menu

For breakfast, lunch and dinner you'll always have a choice between the Ronto Wrap and the Kyryll Pork Rinds. Both of these options are considered all day menu items, so that you can enjoy them at any point during your visit to Ronto Roasters.

The beverages and allergy friendly portions of Ronto Roasters' menu carry over from breakfast, making this destination convenient for everyone.

Ronto Roasters Allergy Friendly Options

One of the great things about Ronto Roasters is that their menu is so allergy friendly, no matter what your allergy concerns may be they've got you covered. For breakfast, lunch and dinner they have quite an extensive list of items that can accommodate those with allergies to gluten/wheat, egg, fish/shellfish, milk, peanut/tree nut, sesame and soy.

We experienced this first hand when trying out the Ronto Wrap. While not allergy specific, our little guy is not into sauces and many of the enhancements on this sandwich. It was very easy to get him a plain sandwich without all of the toppings.

Mobile ordering at Ronto Roasters

If you haven't been to Ronto Roasters at Disney's Star Wars Galaxy's Edge yet, you can make your life a lot easier by using mobile order. Might we add, not just easier here but at any restaurant that offers mobile ordering.

Mobile ordering allows you to place an order through the My Disney Experience App and then pick it up when you get to the location. It is an incredible time saver and helps you avoid those long lines.

Just open the app and tap on the restaurant where you'd like to order from. You can see what the menu offers, then select which items you'd like to get and place your order. It's also possible that you may find some 'secret' menu items that are only available when you mobile order.

When you arrive, let the app know by clicking 'I'm here prepare my food' and they'll prepare your food while you wait, then let you know when it's ready for pickup!

Ronto Wrap Fandom

This sandwich is so popular that the internet is filled with all sorts of recipes on how to make a version of it at home. As we were taking another look at the menu items at Ronto Roasters, we found more sites than we could count that offer a recipe for this sandwich.

If you try this sandwich and decide you love it, you won't have a hard time trying to figure out the recipie!

Our First Bite of the Ronto Wrap

We have to admit that we were way behind everyone else in trying the Ronto Wrap - but it was very much worth the wait. We all enjoyed the sandwich and found the sausage to be cooked perfectly and had that 'snap' you get from perfectly grilled pork sausage.

Personally, I wasn't sure how I would feel about the toppings but the tangy slaw and peppercorn sauce all worked well together. Two things I would have liked, and I'm being picky here, was a little more sauce and a slightly thinner pita. Neither of these things hindered my enjoyment of the sandwich.

We all enjoyed the Ronto Wrap and would certainly get it again or try the breakfast version depending on when we were in the area.

The sandwiches were filling enough that I could not finish mine and ended up leaving behind a snack for my husband. He was overjoyed - he got two meals out of one! As I mentioned, we are curious about is the breakfast version of this sandwich. The next chance we get for a breakfast in Galaxy's edge, we will give it a try and report back our findings!

Final Thoughts

After experiencing the Ronto Wrap for the first time, it's safe to say, we were not disappointed. It was definitely worth the wait! And it was deserving of all the hype.

Now that we've tried it, we can see why the Ronto Wrap has bit of a cult following. If you're heading to Disney's Star Wars Galaxy's Edge, we highly recommend giving the Ronto Wrap a try.

Until next time, Enjoy the journey!
